Bassist Lonnie Vencent from BulletBoys & Hollywood California’s 80’s glam band HAWK interview was published in Tempi-Dispari, Rome Italy’s source for rock music news, arts & culture and Rock Legend News, Firenze, Italy.

Rock Legend News: What has been your approach to music Lonnie?

Lonnie Vencent: Conglomerating my influences into my music.

Rock Legend News: In 1984, You, Scott Travis, Doug Marks, Charles Morrill were in the Hollywood, California’s 80’s glam band HAWK. The band seemed to have a good future. What exactly did not work?

Lonnie Vencent: There was no record company. It was funded by Doug and his wife Londa. It was like being signed to a label, because it was funded by Metal Method.

Rock Legend News: HAWK image designer, Londa R. Marks added to the unique chemistry of HAWK. She also designed and created some clothes for the Bullet Boys. How do you like working with Londa?

Lonnie Vencent: First, Londa was the fifth member of HAWK. She was a huge part of that. Second, I love working with her. She is the consummate professional.

Rock Legend News: The Bullet Boys, Formed in 1987, one of the best 80’s and 90’s hard rock bands composed of former Ratt guitarist/King Kobra lead vocalist Marq Torien (vocals), former King Kobra guitarist Mick Sweda, you, Lonnie Vencent (bass) and Jimmy D'Anda (drums, percussion). The self titled record was a big success peaking at number 34 on Billboard’s 200. How difficult is it and what is involved in creating a hit album?

Lonnie Vencent: We didn't create it. We lived it.

Rock Legend News: The Bullet Boys seem to have been influenced by Van Halen. Are you a Van Halen fan? What are your main influences?

Lonnie Vencent: Yes, I am a Van Halen fan, Led Zepplin, Pat Travers, Rush.

Rock Legend News: Lonnie, can you tell us any secrets or things no one knows about the 80’s?

Lonnie Vencent: It's not coming back.

Rock Legend News: Becoming a successful rock band is not easy. What do you feel is your reason for success?

LV: Too stupid to know otherwise.

Rock Legend News: What are your future plans?

Lonnie Vencent: I'm in a brand new band in Hollywood with the original members of Bulletboys and a new singer called Lies, Deceit and Treachery. Look on YouTube for Lies, Deceit and Treachery at the Burbank Bar and Grill.

Rock Legend News: Can we expect a new Bullet Boys album any time soon?

Lonnie Vencent: No.

Rock Legend News: What would you like to say to your Italian fans?

Lonnie Vencent: Can't wait to come over there with the new band. Please contact me on my Facebook. I want to hear from my Italian fans.

Rock Legend News: I want to ask you the same thing I am asking others because it is a profound occurrence now. Why do you think the 80's are re-igniting? I mean, it is like it's 1985 in Colombia, South America; it is happening here in Italy and it is apparent all over the world that the 80’s and even the 70’s rock styles are becoming enlivened again.

Lonnie Vencent: I see it differently here.
